“Desktop-like Applications on the iPhone” by Steve Jobs, January 2007
Can you watch this clip and tell me that Apple didn’t already have an SDK and native applications planned for the iPhone, even when Jobs announced it in January ‘07? :)
This whole keynote is still one of the most exciting product announcements I’ve seen in my lifetime! You can tell when a company is so excited about a product that it shows every time they talk about it. And that’s why I love Apple: they’re passionate for their products! Passion is required to create a successful product, and looking at the current tech market, you can sure tell which companies are passionate about what they do and their customers by their growth.
And no, this is not a “fanboy” post. Anyone who truly loves technology and doesn’t have “anti-Apple” goggles (which seem to be way more common that “Apple fanboys”, to be honest) on will agree with that. Say what you will: the iPhone revolutionized mobile phones, music players and portable internet communication devices.
And holding my 2+ year-old iPhone 2G on my hand while watching that keynote is still mesmerizing… “I’m holding that amazing device!!”. :)
